Weight Loss - How Does Habits Influence Us, Being Over Weight?

Thinking positively does not happen by it self. It requires aware focused attention and we need to practice it, consciously, to habitually develop the ability to think positive. The ability to think and act positive and makes it possible to turn a negative situation into positive experiences, with bonus outcomes. We can unleash our newly discovered unlimited mind power to attract success, friends and anything we desire in life. The old habits are the negative habits, which, stall us, limits us and prohibits us, to go beyond ourselves to achieve a successful life.

Positive thinking alone will not change our lives. Re-organizing our minds and our way of life (habits) will provide us with a structure and to form a solid foundation on which to build a clear vision and outlook of the present (as is) and the future (should be) situation. We create our own happiness and our own drama. If you are not currently happy do something about it. We need to Change our habits to get a different outcome?

How do we change a Habit.

* Enhance your Self Esteem - through self acceptance - to be on your own side, to affirm yourself as a human being, to be committed to your own growth, your own value as a human being. (The thought process of the (as is) situation)

* Evaluate your Self Worth - Establish and evaluate your problem and face the real problem. (as is situation)

* Ensure and re-assure your self of what you want to achieve - Your choice and decision. (What is the should be situation)

* take a stand and decide on an action plan - Consider the When, Where, Why, With Who (all the W's)

* Put your plan in action. - (Keep to the Rules)

* Evaluate whether it is working, if not, adjust. (See Reflection below)

* Reward your self when you have done well. (Keep to your Rules)

That's it - Go for It - put the habit in a bag with a cement brick and drown it. take on a Weight Loss diet and kick the old habit of being over weight!

Reflection

Do an evaluation, alone at a quiet time. Reflection is a review of the events which happened in a day. Some went great, some bad. Have you done great today? What went well and went not so well? How can you improve? Re-commit to your goals? Have you reached your goal or still far from it? Or worst still, moving further away from your goals.

To your well being!

How to Enjoy Your Vacation With the Kids

Taking your kids on vacation is not always easy. When planning for holidays with children, there are plenty of things to consider. looking for a kid friendly resort is the key to making sure your trip is full of fond memories instead of splitting headaches.

1. Take the kids to the happiest place on earth. Yes, walt Disney World, located in central florida. The number one choice of little ones the world over, it can also be a great experience for the adults of the family unit. With so many theme parks to choose from and animated characters to meet, the experience could hardly be called boring. If parents are looking for less child-centered activities, they can take a tour of Pleasure Island or explore the shops of downtown Disney. Of course, there are enough eateries around to satisfy everybodys tastes.

2. If theme parks are not your cup of tea, perhaps a tropical location is closer to your ideal vacation spot. Try to get a detailed map of Spain, or whichever country you are visiting, to find some great outdoor spots. Check out the Atlantis resort that is located on Paradise Island (of the Bahama islands fame). This resort caters to the entire family. With eleven pools and plenty adventurous slides to choose from, your children will be happy little swimmers. Or, mix education with pleasure by taking them to the Discovery Channel camp, where they can learn about the local ecosystem, explore their creativity through arts and crafts or take guided tours of the island. Adventurous adults can partake of snorkeling and water skiing activities. At night, go to the casino or even hit the clubs. At Atlantis resort, there is a plenty of something for everyone.

3. If you would rather ski the slopes than the ocean, then book your stay with Snowbird resort in Utah. Kids under twelve ski free, but the fun doesnt stop there. Try snowboarding, ice skating or snow tubing. If you can think of a snow-related activity, Snowbird probably has it. Indoors, the resort is host to live music performances all year. Parents can also take advantage of the fitness club and spa.

4. When your family needs adventure, pack up and head to the Treesort in Takilima, Oregon. Take part in a true Swiss family Robinson experience by lodging in the trees. Choose from one of eighteen different nests to sleep in, and spend your days climbing through the resorts various elevated amusements. You can find a pool on the ground, as well as camp sites, but thats about it.

5. When planning a vacation that is part fun and part educational, look no further than the Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. This resort is sure to offer a family package that suits your needs. The resort itself offers childrens camps that feature swimming, games and even yoga. In addition, you will find gulfing courses and tennis courts, and a marina. best of all, Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens are just a car ride away.

What's In Your Weather Forecast?

weather calamities seem to have an eye for asia this summer although many other parts of the world are far from immune to Mother's growing chaos. In case you do not follow the weather news, here are some of the latest headlines:

Romania on Flood Alert
South asia monsoon toll passes 2,000.
At least 13 dead in Pakistan rains.
Rivers above alert levels as rain subsides over central europe.
Storms batter ohio.
Extreme floods hit 500 million people a year.
Floods, landslides kill 35 in china.
Floods show need for disaster risk reduction: UN.
Hong Kong issues cyclone warning.
Did global warming cause NYC tornado?

There are a lot more headlines dealing with the tornado in brooklyn, rising death toll in asia due to flooding, sweltering heat that is still rampant in parts of the U.S., deaths from flooding and starvation in Vietnam, deaths from storms in the Philippines, a mini-tsunami in Algeria and an announcement by the UN that many parts of the world have confronted record breaking heat waves, floods, storms and cold snaps including snowfall in africa.

What is evident from many of these stories is that governments are not ready to deal with repeated natural disasters. In 2005 an agreement, the international Strategy for Disaster Reduction, was signed by 168 countries in Kobe, japan. Between 2001 and 2005 84% of deaths due to natural disasters were caused by flooding. It is clear that, like many well meaning agreements, that many governments have not taken their commitments to heart. Given that more and increased flooding is inevitable, what will governments do to prevent further loss of life and property? When will governments get their heads out of the sand and realize that climate change is a much bigger threat than terrorism? The ISDR says that modest investments in early warning systems, evacuation plans, public education and better building standards can greatly reduce the loss of life and property. Unfortunately, many nations are too poor for even these modest efforts and if disaster strikes, limited funds must go to relief. The richer nations have tended to take an It wont happen here attitude and the effects of that line of thing have been clear in the U.S., england and central europe.

One must keep in mind that much of this flooding is due to heavy and long rains and does not include what may happen in terms of hurricanes and monsoons. Add to these equation problems from heat waves, earthquakes, droughts, freak snows and tornadoes hitting the downtown areas of cities and it is evident that we could be facing some real problems. All of these natural disasters are costing billions of dollars in property loss, disrupting economies, creating social chaos and costing lives. How deep are the pockets of relief agencies and charitable organizations?

We are standing in the middle of the environmental highway and Mother Nature is driving right at us. There is a lot of talk and very little action. Policy makers are still acting like we have scores of years to begin to solve these problems. Perhaps it is so out of hand that governments fear telling people how bad things may get. Panic is not a pretty sight. It has been said that disasters can bring out the best in people but events in Pakistan and india have put that notion to a severe test; the grade is not encouraging.

It is a little easier to offer assistance when only a relatively small or remote population is affected by disaster. When disaster is widespread, however, disaster brings out the worst and not the best of human nature. As the American economy begins to falter under the pressures home foreclosures and increasing debt, will the U.S. be so generous to foreign lands drowning under monsoons and other environmental disasters? When we face another Katrina, how much will be left for others particularly when we do know how to effectively and efficiently deal with such issues? As it is said in the 11th Hour, the clock is ticking. What is in your weather forecast?
